This is an exciting opportunity at the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, to be part of the Insight and Analysis (I&A) team where you will be supporting the generation of analysis-backed insights into some of the biggest issues the world is facing today

About the Position 

Working with like-minded colleagues in a fast-paced and stimulating environment, this role will suit someone who is excited by working in a team, using qualitative and quantitative data analytics, and who shares their passion for accelerating the transition to a circular economy.

Duties and Responsibilities 

You will take part in delivering the Insight and Analysis (I&A) team objectives through the following activities:

  • Research and analysis. Working with various projects and initiatives of the Foundation to drive research, problem solve and insights generation on transitioning to a circular economy; collaborating with the Foundation team, external research and business partners,
  • Knowledge transfer. Packaging knowledge into a report, case studies, and other assets and tools. Supporting the development and facilitation of workshops and other events, if required.
  • Stakeholder engagement. Working with a wide range of stakeholders ranging from companies, cities, philanthropists, policymakers, academics and NGOs and students.
  • Internal capability building. Actively contributing to developing the Foundation’s expertise through the development of the Foundation’s knowledge repository.
  • Work Location: Cowes, Isle of Wight with the possibility of initial remote working due to the current COVID-19 restrictions.

Eligibility

  • 1-2 years’ experience in a role related to Business and/or Economics or a Masters degree in a related subject. Expertise in topics such as the bio-economy, agro-ecology, climate change, and biodiversity would be an advantage.
  • The intellectual capacity and analytical skills to understand the principles of the circular economy and to apply them to various projects and initiatives
  • Evidence of strong quantitative analytics, with the skills to analyse data (e.g. by building Excel models) and extract insights, even when sources are scarce or data points seem ambiguous. Basic programming skills in Python and/or Javascript would be an advantage, but not a requirement.
  • Strong communication skills: evidence of having written engaging documents; the ability to interact effectively at all levels of an organisation and to contribute proactively to problem solving in meetings and workshops.
