Call For Volunteers: Judges for the ClimateScience Olympiad 2021

Judges ClimateScience olympiad 2021

Deadline: Rolling

ClimateScience is inviting applications from individuals interested in volunteering to become a judge for the ClimateScience Olympiad 2021.

About the Position

In the run-up to the COP26 conference in Glasgow, from January to September 2021, ClimateScience will be hosting hundreds of qualifier events where pairs of 14- to 17 and 18- to 25-year-olds from around the world will have three hours to solve a given problem statement on a climate topic. They aim to reach 10,000 participants and identify many extraordinary young people. Thus, they are looking for individuals to help in judging these teams.

Based on the judges’ scoring, the top 5% of teams from each month of the year will move on to the semi-finals in September. Our judges will score the semi-finals and the top 50 finishers will advance to the finals. The finals will take place in Glasgow, UK during the United Nations Climate Summit (COP26) in November 2021.

  • ClimateScience Internal Managers will allocate the essay format response from each Olympiad qualifier event to judges who will determine participants’ raw scores based on the rubric. Judges will also be required to score responses at the semi-final and finals.
